GHST Couples League
This league is a 10 week handgun handicapped team Lewis league using half-size silhouette targets. Men may use any centerfire handgun cartridge up to .45 caliber. Women may use any handgun cartridge up to .45 caliber. Iron, optical or holographic/dot electronic sights allowed. No laser (target painting) sights allowed. Couples form a team but due to the difference in stage timing, there will be a men’s course of fire and women’s course of fire. Team ranking determined by the average of a team’s individual handicapped scores.
The League shoots on Thursday evenings at 6:00PM. The 2024 Fall Couples League started September 19, 2024. See League calendar for the full 2024 schedule. The assembly area for this League is classroom 1.
A Range Officer controls the course of fire and also ensures safety rules are enforced. All firearms must be inspected by the Range Officer at the firing line.
Multiple target sets may be shot on league nights allowing shooters to either catch up on missed weeks or to shoot ahead. Shooters also have the option of shooting an additional target set during the 10 week run to replace their worst target set.
In the event of a firearm or ammunition malfunction, shooters are allowed to shoot an alibi on any of the first five targets of a set. Women are allowed an alibi for each of the first five targets. Men are only allowed one alibi per target set. Alibis are not allowed on the sixth target. A shooter may either choose to accept the alibi and reshoot that target with the penalty of loosing as many high shots as they took before the malfunction or they may reject the alibi and keep the current target’s score.
The 2024 Fall Couples League fees are $5.00/individual for registration and $15.00 per target set per individual.
If conditions permit, a banquet will be held once League completes to award trophies and door prizes. Trophies are awarded by couple and show the couple’s rank, score, and X count. The couple with the highest X count will have an additional notation on their trophy.
